Corporate Social Responsibility

Our Responsibility, at the Heart of Human Health

As the first private laboratory in Luxembourg to be awarded both “Entreprise Socialement Responsable” and “Responsibility Europe” labels, Laboratoires Réunis defines its mission well beyond medical testing.

As a committed actor in human health, we recognize a broader responsibility towards patients, our employees, and society as a whole.

Our CSR approach is grounded in a clear belief: scientific excellence, patient and employee safety, ethical integrity, and environmental responsibility are not separate priorities, they are the very foundation of responsible medicine.

Embedded in our daily operations, our CSR strategy is long-term, structured, and driven by continuous improvement. It is actively managed and aligned with the strategic direction of Biogroup, of which we are a part.

Public Health & Medical Mission

Public health lies at the core of our CSR commitment.

Delivering reliable results, supporting prevention, and contributing to public health policies are fundamental to our role.

Turning Commitment into Action:

We actively contribute to public health efforts and take our role seriously:

  • Supporting large-scale screening initiatives alongside public authorities
  • Providing expertise to patients and healthcare professionals

We view public health not just as a mission, but as a collective responsibility serving the common good.

Employee Health, Safety & Quality of Working Life

High-quality care depends on the people who make it possible.

We therefore place strong emphasis on the health, safety, and well-being of our teams.

Turning Commitment into Action:

We go beyond regulatory compliance by placing primary prevention at the core of our organization:

  • Launch of a Quality of Working Life (QWL) initiative supported by trained internal representatives, fostering employee involvement and dialogue
  • Structuring prevention over the long term through internal training programs and continuous capability building
  • Progressive development of in-house expertise to enhance autonomy in occupational health, safety and training activities
  • Sharing our occupational health and safety expertise as part of a broader societal commitment
  • Participation in the “Vision Zero” initiative led by the Association d’Assurance Accident (AAA), promoting a prevention culture aimed at eliminating workplace accidents

We prioritize proactive, structured, and transferable prevention as a lever for sustainable performance.

Environment & Sustainability

We are fully aware of the environmental impact of our activities and are committed to reducing our footprint through measurable and progressive actions.

Turning Commitment into Action:

We invest in sustainable and responsible infrastructure to protect our people, the integrity of our samples, and the environment:

  • Modernization of our facilities to enhance employee safety and ensure optimal sample preservation
  • Measurable improvements in energy performance following infrastructure upgrade
  • Integration of environmental considerations into technical and organizational decision-making
  • Completion of our first carbon footprint assessment, in line with Biogroup’s environmental strategy, providing a structured and measurable basis for future action

Our approach is simple and effective: measure, act, improve.

Ethics, Human Rights & Society

We conduct our activities with integrity, respecting ethical principles, fundamental rights, and transparency, while fully embracing our societal responsibilities.

Turning Commitment into Action:

Our CSR approach is built on clear, formal, and recognized commitments that structure our governance and guide our action:

  • Signatory of the Diversity Charter, promoting inclusion and equal opportunity
  • Member of the National Pact “Business and Human Rights,” reflecting our commitment to uphold and promote fundamental rights, including the right to health
  • Strong standards in medical ethics, integrity, and data confidentiality, embedded in our operational practices
  • Holder of the “Made in Luxembourg” label, reflecting our strong local roots within a multicultural environment

Our CSR governance is structured, accountable, and aligned with national and international standards.

A Long-Term Commitment

Our CSR approach is part of an ongoing journey of continuous improvement.

It is actively managed, regularly assessed, and evolves in line with our activities, societal expectations, and public health challenges, supporting sustainable performance and responsible growth.

Our testimonials

Dr Stéphane Tholl, CEO

Being the first medical diagnostic laboratory in Luxembourg to be awarded the Entreprise socialement responsable label is something we are genuinely proud of. But with that pride comes responsibility: leading by example and showing that CSR is not a nice-to-have, but a real necessity. If our approach encourages others to follow a similar path, then we will have helped move our sector forward together. Because while CSR is part of who we are, it only truly makes a difference when it is shared and collective.

Fadila Tazamoucht, Responsible RSE

Building our CSR strategy was an important learning process. It showed us that effective CSR is not about doing more, but about making better use of existing resources — together as a team.

Katrin Effenberger, CHRO

CSR gives meaning to what we achieve together. It guides our decisions and shapes how we work together. In multicultural teams, it offers a shared sense of direction and strengthens respect, inclusion, and collaboration. Within HR, we live these values every day, creating an environment where sustainable and positive impact can truly grow.

Erico D'Almeida, Legal Counsel

CSR needs a clear and reliable legal framework to have a lasting impact. Complying with legal requirements is simply part of how we work, particularly when it comes to protecting health data, labor law, and compliance. It is the foundation of the trust placed in us by patients, partners, and our teams. My role is to make sure that our societal commitments are firmly embedded in everyday practice, guided by integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
